Fort Worth Zoo: Penguins deliver Valentine love notes
Riddle: What’s black, white and spreads love all over? It’s a Valentine’s Day penguin from the Fort Worth Zoo.
The zoo isn’t giving away penguins for Valentine’s Day, but it is offering a variety of unique penguinified greetings. The Valentine gifts range from $10 to $250 and include an opportunity to meet the zoo’s penguins up-close. All the proceeds will go to the care and feeding of the zoo’s African black-footed penguins.
The zoo offers the following penguin love packages.
The Love Peck Valentine, consists of a special card “sealed with a kiss” for $10.
The Lovebirds package, includes a Love Peck, an “I [heart] Penguins” tote bag, a plush penguin, specialty chocolates, a personalized adoption certificate, a penguin fact sheet and photo, plus a one-year subscriptions to the zoo’s roar! magazine and Tracks newsletter—all for $60.
The Hearts & Flippers package has everything in the Lovebirds package, plus four general admission tickets to the Fort Worth Zoo for $100.
The Valentine’s Penguin Party includes everything in the Lovebird package plus an invitation for two to the zoo’s “wildly” romantic Valentine’s Day Penguin Party on Feb. 14, for $150.
The ultimate package, the Tux Club goes for $250 and includes the Valentine's Penguin Party package plus a “Sweetheart” table for two, a demi bottle of Piper Heidscheick champagne and a private photo with the zoo's Wild Wonders penguins.
